The RECIPIENT named above is a faculty or staff member of the University of Waterloo (LICENSEE). By accepting a copy of any of these SPSS products, RECIPIENT agrees to the following conditions governing its use:

  • RECIPIENT may use the SPSS Inc. copyrighted computer software products in accordance with the agreement with SPSS Inc.
  • RECIPIENT acknowledges that these products are copyrighted and that SPSS Inc. retains all title and ownership rights to the products.
  • RECIPIENT agrees not to copy or permit others to copy the products, in whole or in part.
  • RECIPIENT agrees to use the products under this agreement only on a computer which is (1) owned or leased by LICENSEE or (2) owned by RECIPIENT. RECIPIENT further agrees that the products must remain under the RECIPIENT's control, and that resale or other transfer is explicitly prohibited.
  • RECIPIENT agrees to use the products only for RECIPIENT's or LICENSEE's own data processing requirements, and not for commercial time-sharing, rental or service bureau use.
  • RECIPIENT agrees not to create, or attempt to create, or permit or help others to create, the source code from the products furnished under this agreement. RECIPIENT agrees that he/she will not reverse engineer or decompile the products.
  • Any machine readable copies of documentation may be printed for RECIPIENT's use only and may not be copied and given to others.
  • Should RECIPIENT remove the computer(s) on which the products are used under this agreement from the location specified above, RECIPIENT agrees to notify LICENSEE promptly of the new location.
  • Upon RECIPIENT's termination of employment, or if advised by LICENSEE that the site license with SPSS Inc. has been terminated, RECIPIENT agrees to return to LICENSEE or destroy at once any and all copies in the RECIPIENT's possession, and to forward written notice to LICENSEE that all programs and materials containing the products have been destroyed or deleted from all computer libraries and storage and memory devices, and are no longer in use or usable by RECIPIENT. Any copies RECIPIENT has in his/her possession will be returned to the IST Computing Help and Information Place (CHIP), MC1052.
