Turnitin is a plagiarism detection service available to the faculty at the University of Waterloo. Students submit their papers electronically via the UW-ACE system. Turnitin then compares the content of those submitted papers to all other papers and documents submitted to the TurnItIn database. Whenever similarities between a student's paper and an existing document are found, Turnitin will highlight those similarities via annotated document showing both the student's paper and the original source.
