Remote Assistance (Will Lewis)
Will demonstrated a new remote assistance service that IST will be using to help clients with problems. If you are on the phone to the IST Help Desk, the help desk advisor will be able to take control of your computer and demonstrate live how to solve your problem. The system is call Bomgar.
Mailservices (Phil Knipe)
If you are an admmail user, and having problems, finding it too slow, or being notified that you are over your quota, you should consider moving to mailservices. The procedure to convert to mailservices can be found at http://ist.uwaterloo.ca/cs/mailservices.pdf

WSUS Management Console Tool (Tim Farrell)
Tim demonstrated a tool that will help computing support reps identify computers in their areas that are having problems with WSUS updates. Installation instructions can be found here. Tim announced that he would arrange a training session on how to use this tool for those interested.
Guidelines for New Printers (Paul Henderson)
Are you obtaining a new printer for your department? Paul Henderson spoke briefly about a document that will help you with the installation of your new printer.
Vista Migration and the Rollover (Bob Hicks)
The desktop rollover program is now targeting workstations in the 2.4 to 2.6 GHz range. The next phase of the migration will go hand-in-hand with the Vista Migration. IST is asking computing support reps to take a Vista test machine, to allow people to become familiar with Vista and to test special purpose applications.
