Configure & Secure Email - Eudora 6.x for Windows
- From the Tools menu, choose Options.
- From the Category list on the left-side, choose Sending Mail.
- Make sure Allow authentication is checked.
- Below "Secure Sockets when Sending", change to "Required, Alternate Port".

- From the "Category" list on the left-side, choose "Checking Mail".
- In the Secure Sockets when Receiving window, change to "Required, Alternate Port".

- Click the "OK" button to save any changes.
Note: if after selecting "Required, Alternate Port" you are still unable to send or receive mail, you may need to do the following - close Eudora, locate the Eudora installation folder, open the extrastuff folder found within and copy the file 'esoteric.epi' into the installation directory, run Eudora, and open the options page. There is now a 'Ports' tab; select it, then set SMTP Port to 465, POP Port to 995 and IMAP Port to 993.
