Web Browsers and Plug-ins

Every computer at UW needs a copy of Internet Explorer (IE) installed, because many of the web-enabled applications at UW have been tested only on IE. Other web browsers available include Firefox and Safari (Mac).

Browser Plug-ins

To access some information on the web, there are some recommended browser plug-ins, including:

Acrobat Reader
Flash

Browser Security Patches

ALL web browsers can experience security threats. Make sure you apply all necessary updates and patches to your browser. Patching your Windows or Mac system will ensure that IE (Windows) and Safari (Mac) are patched.
