Animated Gifs
- Do you remember the old flipbooks? You would flip the pages and get the impression of
animation. Now you can spare your thumb and do it on your computer.
- Animated Gifs work best with line drawing or art.
- Animated photograghic movies tend not to look that
great, due to the limited number of colours.
- If you are going to have the animation loop, you need to make sure the last image
displayed ties into the first image. IF you fail to do this, the animation will
"jump" as it restarts.
Controls over how the animation is played back
Some of the things that you have control over between frame changes are:
Previous frame disposition
- None: The new frame appears over top of the previous frame. When used
with a transparent colour set, you can have an object or text appear on top of an already
existing picture.
- Restore Background: This "clears" the previous image, and the
new images is drawn on a "clean" background.
Timing of Frame Changes
For each change between frames, you can specify the delay time in one-hundredths of
seconds.
Looping
You can set the number of times the amination is played as a loop, include continuous.
