Motor does not work.
Symptom: Drive resets, but motor does not spin.
Target : all serial floppy drives
Possible sources of failure
- rectifier
- electrolytic capacitor
- voltage regulator
Analysis
Note: The following procedures require a multimeter.
Rectifier ok?
Measure the voltage on the electrolytic capacitor. If it is
far below 15-20V, replace the rectifier with a B 40 C 2200.
Electrolytic capacitor ok?
Blah...
Voltage regulator ok?
Blah...
